OREGON

Bonsai Society of Portland – The Bonsai Society of Portland, Oregon, promotes the art of bonsai through education. The Society meets monthly, presents guest speakers, shares bonsai knowledge, holds public exhibits, maintains a library of books, videos, maintains a mentorship program and holds social events, and much more. BSOP also has a Shohin group that meets monthly.

Cascade Bonsai Society (Medford) – Club meets at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month at Eastwood Baptist Church, 675 N. Keene Way Drive, Medford, OR 97504. Click here for directions and map.

CALIFORNIA

Golden State Bonsai Federation – GSBF, Inc. is a non-profit educational organization which provides services and activities promoting the wonderful art of bonsai. GSBF is made up of member clubs in California and affiliate clubs in the adjoining States.

Bonsai Society of San Francisco – The club meets every 2nd Thursday for regular club meetings and every 3rd Thursday for a workshop.

Redwood Empire Bonsai Society – Serving the Santa Rosa region.

Bay Island Bonsai –  Bay Island Bonsai is a Northern California organization founded in 1998 by Boon Manakitivipart.

California Shohin Society – Every two years a Shohin Seminar is held in Santa Nella, California. Bonsai masters, teachers, and enthusiasts from all over the country donate their time to this event.

Gardens:

Pacific Bonsai Museum – One of the finest bonsai museums in the U.S.

Golden State Bonsai Federation – Currently, the Golden State Bonsai Federation maintains a collection in northern California at The Bonsai Garden at Lake Merritt, one in southern California at the The GSBF Collection at The Huntington and the third at the Shinzen Friendship Garden in Fresno.

Japanese Garden  in Portland, Oregon.  The Bonsai Society holds a yearly spring show in the pavilion.
