Web work

To help support the bonsai community at large I volunteer my web design services to bonsai clubs and organizations across the U.S.  It’s a fun way to get to know other bonsai professionals and enthusiasts, and learn about the fascinating opportunities happening across the country.

Recent bonsai related websites I have had the honor to work on include:

  • Cascade Bonsai Society – Southern Oregon’s local club site
The local club is small but active. If you live in southern Oregon please consider attending one of their monthly meetings or seasonal outings.
  • 2016 Shohin Seminar – The California Shohin Society’s biannual event
Every two years the California Shohin Society organizes a Shohin Seminar in Santa Nella, California, where bonsai masters, teachers, students and general enthusiasts from all over the country gather to learn and share their love of Shohin bonsai. This event is the only one of its kind in the U.S. It is also one of the only bonsai events where all of the bonsai masters donate their time and travel expenses for the purpose of offering affordable, intensive instruction on the topic of Shohin bonsai.  This is an event not to be missed.
  • 5th National Bonsai Exhibition – William N. Valavanis’ September 2016 show in Rochester, NY
Like Japan’s Kokufu Bonsai Exhibition, people from around the world attend the bi-annual U.S. National Bonsai Exhibitions to appreciate and study the diversity of the unique and distinctive species displayed by accomplished bonsai artists from across the United StatesThe exhibitions stand as historic and important milestones in American bonsai and suiseki. This is one the most internationally recognized bonsai events in the nation.
